Frequently Asked Questions

How do I decide between embroidery and transfer?

For the vast majority it is a matter of preference but there are several factors that may help you make your decision.

An embroidery is charged per garment application whereas transfers are charged in batches (see "How much will my transfer cost?" A and "How much will my embroidery cost?" B for more detail). Depending on your needs either could be the more cost effective option.

The nature of garment that is being customised may dictate which logo will work best. Please see the table of product types along with the type of customisation we can apply.

Workwear (Coveralls, Warehouse Coats, Aprons, Tabards, Bodywarmers)			Embroidery	We do not recommend customising products protecting from chemicals, we would consider this on application.
Accessories (Holdalls, Caps)				Hat customisation can be no larger than 80mm wide and 60mm high. We recommend a design that does not have smaller lettering than 6mm tall.
Accessories (Beanie Hats)				Hat customisation can be no larger than 80mm wide and 60mm high. We recommend a design that does not have smaller lettering than 6mm tall.

How much will my transfer cost?

Transfer prices depend on 4 factors:

Size

To calculate the logo size, which you require multiply the maximum width by the maximum height you want your logo to be and divide by 100.

The example shown: 36mm x 150mm = 5400mm2. 5400/100 = 54cm2= Size B on the pricelist

Number of colours

Count the colours in the logo. The example has 1. N.B a colour is defined as a flat colour.

Quantity

Decide how many logos you require. (You may purchase more than your immediate requirement and we will hold he surplus stock for future use. For example you may require 20 garments immediately and a further 80 over the next few months. We recommend purchasing 100 logos to take advantage of the greatly reduced prices and create much quicker lead times as this will eliminate waiting for your logo to be prepared.)

For the example below, using 100 quantity for illustration we refer to the Size A column, 100 row, brings us to £0.94 + 3 additional colours (3 x £0.44) gives a total of £2.26 per logo.

How do I know the type of transfer I need?

Bespoke transfers are most commonly requested, this would be made to your design & specification (usually a company logo) for example.

We have a minimum order of 12 logos, which would need to be paid for upfront but can be used over a period. These take approximately 3 days to set up and 5 working days to get the first batch in stock. These are priced based on the design, to see how much your logo would cost in this style please see "How much will my transfer cost". The Premium system that we use is extremely versatile, it is developed to withstand repeated washing by industrial machines at 80°C. Suited for application onto industrial work wear and leisure wear it is the perfect complement to your garment. Plotter Cut transfers are used for single colour text for example.

These can be made to your dimensions and font as they are still bespoke. There is no minimum order for plotter cut so these are great to use for a one off projects. There is a maximum of 20 characters per line and 4 lines per design.

How much will my embroidery cost?

We calculate the cost of your embroidery based on the number of stitches used. The minimum charge is £1.40. Background colours and the overall size are the most common cost increases. To get a price for your logo please send the design to sales@contegosafety.co.uk and we will be happy to quote it for you.

How long will it take?

Embroidery: 3 – 7 days from design approval.

Transfers:

First order/ No stock: 8 - 12 days.

In stock/ subsequent orders: 3 – 7 days.

Are there any set up costs?

We will digitalise your image for transfer and proof it free of charge.

New embroidery set up costs £35 per design.

Email your logo design along with any instructions (e.g. size and placement) to sales@contegosafety.co.uk and one of our friendly sales team will be able to advise you of the cost and create digital version for approval. For embroidered logos we will then also send you a stitch sample on fabric for a final confirmation. Once you are happy we set your logo up so that it can be ordered; if you will be ordering online please let us know so that we can create a log in for you.
